Some rules of politeness:

• When we greet you with folded hands, answer the same way.
• Take off your shoes before entering in a pagoda or inside a house.
• The Laos are very sensitive to the dress code. It is important to wear proper and clean clothes especially when visiting pagodas during Baci ceremonies.
• It is very rude to show something with your foot.
• It is necessary to be respectful towards monks, for example leave them the way. Women are not allowed to touch them or to give somethings hands to hands.
• Touch someone's head, even children, is rude (head is a sacred part of the body)
